This GPS receiver has some excellent key feautures. First of all the Emlid Reach RS2+ gets a RTK fix in just seconds and maintains robust performance even in challenging conditions. Centimeter accuracy can be achieved on distances over 60 km in RTK and 100 km in PPK.

The Emlid Reach RS2+ is used for land surveying. It can when used correctly with RTK corrections get a accuracy of less than 1 cm. The deviation caused by the user, for not keeping the GPS rod straight, is usually bigger than the deviation cased by the Emlid Reach RS2+. So yes, the Emlid reach RS2+ is very accurate.

The Emlid Reach RS2+ is the successor of the Emlid Reach RS2. Emlid need to come with a new version of the Emlid Reach RS2, because in many countries the 3G network got deprecated. Those countries started to use the 4G network. The Emlid Reach RS2 has a 3.5G modem. But to keep everything work optimal a new modem needed to be used. This new modem is integrated in the Emlid Reach RS2+. That is the big difference between the Emlid Reach RS2+ and the Emlid Reach RS2.

You can connect with the Wi-Fi network of the Emlid Reach RS2+ if the GNSS receiver is not connected with some other Wi-Fi network. When you want to connect to the Wi-Fi network of the Emlid Reach RS2+ then you have to use the password ’emlidreach’. After that you can configure this GNSS receiver.

The Emlid reach RS2+ has its own IP address. You can reach it after connecting with the Wi-Fi of the Emlid Reach RS2+. You do that with the password ’emlidreach’. After this connection you can go to the IP address or URL ‘’. In this page you will be able to configure the Emlid Reach RS2+ GNSS receiver.

There are two ways to configure the Emlid reach RS2+. The first way is with the Emlid Flow app, which is available on the Google Play Store and the App Store of Apple. The GNSS receiver and the device where the app is installed on have to be on the same Wi-Fi network. This can be the Wi-Fi network of the Emlid Reach RS2+. When you open the Emlid Flow app it will scan for the available GNSS receivers of Emlid. After clicking on the Emlid Reach RS2+ that you want to set up you will get in the configuration screen.
This option might force you to update the Emlid reach RS2+. But when you don’t want that or when you don’t want to install an extra app then you can also configure the Emlid Reach RS2+ with the URL ‘’. You can use this option when you connect your device to the Emlid Reach RS2+ Wi-Fi network. This device can be a laptop, desktop, tablet or phone.

The Emlid Reach RS2+ can be charged with the USB-C cable that comes with this GNSS receiver. You plug the USB-C plug into the socket of the Emlid Reach RS2+. The other side of the cable you can connect with an adapter that is not included in this product to a socket.
You can easily see how much the Emlid Reach RS2+ is charged, because of the LED lights in front of the GNSS receiver. When 5 LED lights are burning it is fully charged.

The Emlid Reach RS2+ and the Emlid Reach RX are both GNSS receivers of the company Emlid. They both give a position based on satellite signals. But there are differences between those GNSS receivers. The Emlid Reach RS2+ is a complete GNSS receiver including a radio and a modem. This makes it possible to configure the Emlid Reach RS2+. But if you don’t want to set up a GNSS receiver, but just want to land survey straight away then you can use the Emlid Reach RX, which works great right out of the box.

When you want to survey the correct height you need to know the antenna reference point of the GNSS receiver. For the Emlid Reach RS2+ it is 0.134 m. So if you use the Emlid Reach RS2+ with Apglos Survey Wizard and a 2.0 m rod than you should set the antenna height at 2.134 m.
